K-Tek Zeppelin Fuzzy Windscreens
Back Up Next We are authorities in production sound recording for video and filmmaking. We also have lots of accessories for videography; and are dealers for Casablanca, AVIO, and Renommee non-linear video editors; as well as turnkey AVID & AVID Liquid (aka Pinnacle) editing solutions.  If you would like a copy of our 2005/2006 "cowboy cover" catalog (free, of course), please phone or e-mail us. We are working on a new 2007 catalog, coming later this year.

Note that we have lowered many prices in order to compete with "New York" discounters. Always call us to check on the latest pricing, and remember to refresh your browser, since we have heard reports of folks looking at olde pages from ancient searches rather than the current ones.

What’s In a ZEPPELIN? …. Nearly Nothing!

Dead Air is what we strive to achieve in Windscreen design, and Dead Air is what you will find in the ZEPPELIN by K-Tek.

SERIOUS WIND PROTECTION!!!

The ZEPPELIN by K-Tek consists of the basket, two rubber retaining rings, two foam end caps, a K-GPS suspension with wide support bar, a rubber filler strip and the XLR attached pig tail, as well as a Micro Fiber lined Faux Fur hi-wind cover.

Assembled, with the microphone installed, the right angled XLR terminates in a male XLR attached to the rear bottom pf the Zeppelin. No need for special pig tails or XLR brackets. Various lengths of baskets can be interchanged without the need to purchase several Zeppelins for different microphone lengths.

The luxurious Faux Fur Hi-Wind cover photographs close to a neutral grey so it does not dominate in the image if it is necessary to have it in the frame, such as in news reporting and documentary work.

Compared to rival products, the K-Tek Zeppelins are less prone to field damage, since the mesh cage and the "rings" are softer materials rather than brittle plastic. They resist crushing, since they are able to bounce back to their original shape. And should a part be lost or damaged, it can be easily user replaced without exotic adhesives or plastic welding. No more need to ship your damaged windscreens back to the mfr. Just order the part and pop it on (without glue nor tools)!

The new K-Tek Zeppelins have a list price of only $375 to $450, and Equipment Emporium has them on sale for only $339.95 to $405.

Zepp-small for short mics, $339.95

Zepp-medium for short shotguns like the AT4073a, $355.

Zepp-large for short shotguns like the ME66, $385.

Zepp-xtra large for shotguns like the AT4071a, $405.

The K-Tek Fuzzy Z-FSO slip-on furry windscreen is an extremely effective furry windscreen intended to fit directly to your mic and does not include any shockmount. This makes it ideal for many camcorder mounted mics, or for folks who already have a good quality shockmount. Pricing is only $100 for the S, M, or L sizes.

K-Tek introduces new
“Zeppelin Fuzzy”
combination shockmount
and furry windscreen

K-Tek, a company well-known and respected for its line of boompoles and shockmounts, has just introduced a new professional windscreen.
Marketed under K-Tek's trademarked Zeppelintm line of windscreen products, their new series of FUZZY's are combination shockmount and furry windscreen integrated into one convenient product. Made in the USA.
The FUZZY consists of a rugged, machined metal shockmount based on the proven K-SM design, along with an attached acoustic foam zeppelin front-end. The front-end is enveloped in a plush, man-made fur selected for its wind dampening characteristics.
The result... A very affordable, quiet, microphone rig that serves double duty as a true shockmount and heavy duty windscreen.
The Fuzzy is ideal for broadcast news and independent filmmaking and comes strongly recommended by Fred and Tom!

There are currently three sizes available:
Fuzzy Z-FZ-S     $225.00
For short mics, such as the Sanken CS-1.

Fuzzy Z-FZ-M $225.00
For average length shotgun mics, such as the Senn 416, AT4073, AT897.

Fuzzy Z-FZ-L $225.00
For the slightly longer length shotgun mics, such as Senn ME66.

The K-Tek Fuzzy K-CAM-FZ is similar to the above combination shockmount & windscreen, but is based on the K-CAM shoemount rather than the swivel boom mount of the K-SM. Pricing is only $180 for the S, M, or L sizes.
