Headphone matrix selector box for location recording

Equipment Emporium is now offering a miniature selector box that allows the user to monitor left channel only, right channel only, or stereo mix over the headset.

A pager sized plastic box features a three position toggle switch and a mini stereo headphone jack. A short cable extends from the box to a mini stereo plug.

The plug connects the headphone jack of the recorder; and the toggle switch permits the listener to monitor left/right/both in both ears with just the flick of a finger.

This item is especially useful with DV camcorders, since it allows the user to monitor one track at a time, concentrating on the primary mic and ignoring the "ambient" mic. Of course, it only takes a flick of the finger to monitor the second mic, or both tracks in stereo.
