Boompoles
Back Up Next We are authorities in production sound recording for video and filmmaking. We also have lots of accessories for videography; and are dealers for Casablanca, AVIO, and Renommee non-linear video editors; as well as turnkey AVID & AVID Liquid (aka Pinnacle) editing solutions.  If you would like a copy of our 2005/2006 "cowboy cover" catalog (free, of course), please phone or e-mail us. We are working on a new 2007 catalog, coming later this year.

Note that we have lowered many prices in order to compete with "New York" discounters. Always call us to check on the latest pricing, and remember to refresh your browser, since we have heard reports of folks looking at olde pages from ancient searches rather than the current ones.

Professional Microphone Boompoles (aka fishpoles) from K-Tek and RoboPole

RoboPole® Professional Mic Boompoles

We manufacture our own line of affordable professional microphone boompoles. Trademarked as the RoboPoles, these boompoles have been meticulously designed by professional boom operators & sound mixers.
Our new MKII (mark two) poles feature quieter/stronger machined metal locking collars, and a shorter minimum length!
The RoboPole MKII consists of four telescoping sections made from high strength aluminum alloy. Maximum extended length is 11 feet 5 inches. Minimum length is only 44 1/2 inches. Total weight, including internal microphone cable, is only two pounds fifteen ounces. Introductory Price is only $349.95 (list is $449.95)
The RoboPole® 15 ft Long 3-section boompole ranges from 70 inches to just shy of fifteen feet fully extended and weighs only 3 pounds 5 ounces including internal 23' Canare mic cable.
The RoboPole® 12 ft Long 3-section boompole ranges from58 inches to twelve feet fully extended and weighs only 2 pounds 12 ounces including internal 19' Canare mic cable. Officially discontinued (replaced by the new RoboPole MKII), availability is limited to used or demo, and imperfects.
The RoboPole® ENG 3-section pole ranges from 40 inches to seven and a half feet fully extended and weighs only 2 pounds including internal 15' Canare mic cable.
We prefer metal rather than carbon fibre because metal does not bow under the weight of a mic and also because metal is quieter and does not conduct handling noise the way that fiber does.
RoboPoles feature industry standard 3/8-16 mounting tips and are internally wired with Canare mic cable & Neutrik connectors. We use two conductor shielded Canare (instead of quad) for added strength and reliability.
The tailpiece section of the pole is a precision machined aluminum assembly (patent pending) that provides a superwide, snag-free cable exit port as well as a reinforced bumper. The cable port is so wide that the boompole can be field stripped for cleaning or maintenance without having to remove the XLR connector!

Boompole Holder $24.95

A lot of places around the country charge up to $100 for a basic, shaped metal coil or yoke designed to support a microphone boompole.
To be honest, that always struck us as a lot of money for something so simple. So we came up with our own.
What we offer is a compact, very sturdy metal device that can be used with a standard grip head. We do not include (nor charge you for) the grip head, since we have never been on a professional set that didn't have a bunch of C-stands.
Our boom holders have a protective coating that will not mar the finish of metal or carbon fiber poles. And there are no clamping jaws that a user might overtighten, resulting in damage to your expensive pole.

EQE Boompole Holder     $24.95

C-clamp for boom holder     $13.95
2 1/2 inch jaw opening. Mounts to flats, boards, etc.
