Handheld (4.5 x 7.2 inches) memory card recorder uses compact flash cards and records digital audio including .mp3 as well as professional 16 bit, 44.1 or 48K .wav files.
A one gig CF card can hold approx one and a half hours of uncompressed stereo audio. CF cards are available on the market up to 5 gig.
Two XLR mic inputs w. 48v Phantom. Runs 4 hours on four AA batts. USB file transfer to PC. Two built-in mics for stereo. Includes AC adapter and stereo mini to RCA adapter cable.
Line input is 3.5mm stereo mini connector. Bright LED metering.
This is a lot of digital recorder for its size and low cost. Very close in functionality to its big brother, the PMD670.

Menu settings allow 3 presets, so you can store your favorite operating modes (mic or line input, sampling rate, etc.) for easy configuration in the field. Very easy to operate, although programming seems hard the first time around, but once you explore the buttons, you realize that it is quite easy to scroll thru and set-up the menu.
