new ATW-1800 series ENG wireless from Audio Technica

Audio Technica is offering a new, camera mountable, UHF diversity wireless mic system that features automatic frequency scanning and a dual-channel receiver (like having two receivers in one housing).

Initially Audio Technica is offering the Dual Channel receiver along with new body-pack and plug-on transmitters. The 1800 series components will be compatible with the 3000 series products with one key difference! The new 1800 series is set up for 996 selectable frequencies in 25KHz steps. Similar to what competitors offer, this feature allows for more user setup flexibility when using the system in highly congested RF areas. The receiver also features automatic frequency scanning like the 3000 series.
 

 No other competitors offer this class of wireless in a dual channel configuration.

Here is some preliminary information. Pricing may be subject to change, as this data is still unofficial. 

A single channel receiver version is expected early next year.

Delivery of the first units is anticipated around Christmas 2006.

This special pricing does not apply to AT899cw lavaliers ordered later on, even if you previously purchased an 1800 series system.

    Fred and Tom have done field trials with the new units, and they are spectacular. Even better range and clarity than the ATW-u101 systems! The auto scan function, which seeks out clear frequencies, works great.
